September

September 6 – Chocolate communion

Rev. Jana A. Rašková

Sweet, bitter, salty, sour…
What are the tastes of our lives?

Bring your favourite treat to share, and a favourite memory from this summer, this year, or this period of your life.

Come as you are, with something to share – a story, a bar of chocolate, or simply a moment from your life.

Let’s celebrate together the many tastes, flavours and moments that make up our lives.

September 13 – What can we hear in silence

Rev. Jana A. Rašková

A thought.

A moment.

A sound.

A prayer.

An emotion…

What can we hear?

September 20 – What life teaches us and what can we take from it

Rev. Jana A. Rašková

Life is our teacher. Life is also our gift.
Our teacher is our gift.

Are we able to accept it?
Do we take it for granted?
What are we here to learn?

September 27 – The Seeds of Self Blessing

Please note, this is a joint service at 10:30am in Čapek’s hall!

Rev. Diane Rollert

From Anxiety to Seeds of Blessing

Last fall at the EUU retreat in Cologne, guest speaker Rev. Diane Rollert guided participants through her workshop “From Angst to Agency”, a series of reflections on transforming anxiety into empowered action. This September, she will visit the Prague congregations to lead a Sunday worship service and afternoon conversation that builds upon similar themes exploring our individual and community responses to fear, change and the anxious times we are living in. Are there seeds of blessing that we can find amidst the worries?

Rev. Diane says, “I keep finding that the theme of anxiety hits a common nerve, as many of us try to figure out how to find steadiness in such uncertain times. This is continuing work we need to do together!
